Singhare Ka Halwa

Singhare Ka Halwa is a festive dessert made with water chestnut flour and lots of almonds. Singhare ke atte ka halwa is a popular vrat recipe and is usually prepared during fasts like Navratri, Ekadashi or Mahashivratri. Singhade ka atta or water chestnut flour is one of the flours that may be eaten during the fasting days as per the rules of the fasts.

Sabudana Khichdi Recipe

Makhane Ki Kheer

Kuttu Ki Puri

Kuttu Ki Puri is prepared with Buckwheat flour which is commonly known as kuttu ka atta. This dish is prepared during the fasts because many flours and cereals are not eaten during the fasts as per the rules. Kuttu atta is devoid of gluten so it cannot be kneaded with just water. To bind the flour, aloo (potato) or arbi is used to knead the atta. Adding mashed potato to the dough also makes the poori more crispy and delicious.
